Mogadishu – The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre, on Wednesday received the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Somalia, “Mr. Wang Yu”, at his office. The meeting reflects the strong diplomatic relations and ongoing cooperation between Somalia and China.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to jointly address Israeli interference in Somalia’s sovereignty and to defend the mutual interests of both countries through enhanced political and security cooperation. They emphasized the importance of respecting national
Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre reaffirmed the commitment of the Federal Government of Somalia to protecting national interests, preserving the unity and territorial integrity of the country, and continuing efforts to combat terrorist groups in order to achieve lasting peace and comprehensive security in Somalia.
For his part, Ambassador “Wang Yu” reiterated his government’s full support for the unity and territorial integrity of Somalia and its respect for the independence and will of the Somali people. He stressed that China will always stand by the Somali people and government. The Prime Minister expressed his appreciation for China’s support against Israeli interference and for its clear stance at the United Nations Security Council in defense of Somalia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
