The President of Somalia meets with the Director General of the Sudanese Intelligence Service.

Mogadishu – Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud received Sudan’s Director-General of Intelligence, Lt. Gen. Ahmed Ibrahim Mufaddal, today at the Presidential Palace in Mogadishu.

The high-level meeting centered on strengthening bilateral relations, with a particular focus on security, intelligence cooperation, and areas of mutual interest between the two countries.

During the talks, Gen. Mufaddal conveyed a special message from the Chairman of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereign Council, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, reaffirming Sudan’s commitment to expanding collaboration with Somalia.

Also present at the meeting was the Director-General of Somalia’s National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA), Mahad Mohamed Salad, who underscored the importance of intelligence-sharing in addressing regional security challenges.

The Sudanese delegation had earlier held discussions with senior Somali government officials, emphasizing the exchange of information and coordinated efforts to tackle common threats.

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud expressed appreciation for Sudan’s continued support and partnership, stressing the significance of solidarity between the two nations in navigating regional challenges.

The discussions were aimed at paving the way for stronger ties and a more secure future for both Somalia and Sudan.
