Somalia’s federal government and a group of opposition leaders have reached an agreement on the model for the upcoming elections, though other opposition factions continue to reject the plan.

Prime Minister Hamse Abdi Barre has appointed Ali Yassin Gurbe as the new Director General of the TUBSAN National Center for Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism.
