Doha – The governments of Somalia and Qatar signed a defense cooperation agreement on Monday to bolster military and security relations between the two countries.
The agreement was signed by Somalia’s Minister of Defense, Ahmed Maalim Fiqi, and Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs, Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al Thani.
The pact focuses on military training, exchange of expertise, capacity development, and enhanced security collaboration, supporting efforts to strengthen regional security and stability.
The signing underscores the strategic relationship between Somalia and Qatar and reflects the shared commitment of both countries to long-term military cooperation and joint defense initiatives.
