Garowe – Puntland authorities have suspended the Auditor of the Ministry of Livestock in the regional government, Raghe Ahmed Hussein, widely known as Abu An Ayro, following his participation in an event organized by the Somali Police Force in Mogadishu.

In an official letter dated December 21, 2025, Puntland’s Minister of Livestock, Omar Abdulsamad, announced the suspension of Abu An Ayro’s salary, accusing him of engaging in political activities that violate Puntland’s labor regulations and the region’s policy restricting institutional engagement with federal government bodies.

Reports indicate that the official attended the event and recited a poem during a ceremony marking the anniversary of the Somali Police Force, which was attended by President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and other senior leaders.

The incident comes amid a growing trend of Puntland civil servants and military officers traveling to Mogadishu, with some reportedly joining institutions of the Federal Government of Somalia. This development has further highlighted ongoing political and institutional tensions between Puntland and the federal administration.
