Welcome
Welcome to the Civic Rights Awareness Campaign, dedicated to empowering citizens, promoting justice, and strengthening democratic participation for all.
About the Service
Civic Rights Awareness Campaign
Civic Rights Awareness Campaign is a flagship service of Somali Policy Talk (SPT), designed to strengthen democratic participation, constitutional literacy, and civic engagement among Somali citizens. It aligns with the Federal Republic of Somalia’s Provisional Constitution (2012), particularly Chapter II "Fundamental Rights and Duties of the Citizen", which guarantees rights such as freedom of expression, association, political participation, and access to information. Somalia’s ongoing state-building process requires an informed citizenry capable of understanding and defending their rights and responsibilities. The campaign aims to bridge the gap between the Somali Constitution, public policy, and everyday civic life.
